When Letting Go is God’s Plan: Self-Worth, Self-Love, and the Courage to Move On

There comes a point in every woman’s life where she has to make peace with this truth: your worth is not up for debate.

We live in a world that constantly tells us to be smaller, quieter, more likable. From childhood, we’re taught to adjust ourselves to make others comfortable. To earn love. To prove value. To keep the peace.

And for what? So someone else can sit comfortably while we twist ourselves inside out?

Here’s what Oprah said: “What other people think of me is none of my business.”

And Maya Angelou echoed it: “Never make someone a priority when all you are to them is an option.”

Sis, those words hit different when you’ve lived through heartbreak, disappointment, and release. I’ve been there, questioning myself, begging for love, holding on to people God was trying to move out of my life.

It hurt. Oh, did it hurt. But now, I see it for what it was: protection disguised as loss.

The Lesson of Letting Go

When people walk away, it’s not always rejection. Sometimes it’s divine redirection. God doesn’t remove what’s meant for you. If they left, it’s because they couldn’t sit at your next table.

Think about it:

  • Some people loved the old version of you, the one who tolerated less, who settled, who played small.

  • But growth demands release. And growth makes people uncomfortable.

  • When you start walking in your worth, you stop begging for crumbs. And not everyone can handle that.

It may sting, but hear me: what left you wasn’t your blessing. What’s ahead of you is.

Your Worth is God-Given, Not Man-Made

You don’t need validation to prove your brilliance. You don’t need applause to confirm your value. You don’t need anyone else’s “yes” to live a life worthy of love and joy.

Your worth was woven into you when God created you. Before the heartbreak. Before the failures. Before the mistakes.

So stop letting temporary people define your eternal value.

The Power of Self-Love

Self-love isn’t bubble baths and candles (though those are nice). It’s deeper. It’s spiritual. It’s saying:

💎 I will not stay where I’m diminished.

💎 I will not accept less than I deserve.

💎 I will not tie my joy to someone else’s opinion of me.

Self-love is boundaries. Self-love is rest. Self-love is walking away when you’ve tried everything, and it still costs you peace.

Yes, it hurts to let go. Yes, it feels like loss. But baby, it’s also liberation.

Non-Negotiables for Women Who Refuse to Dim Their Light

As I step into this new season of life, there are things I will not compromise on. Call them non-negotiables. Call them survival skills. Call them my Luxe standards. But they are mine, and I encourage every woman reading this to write her own.

Here are mine:

  1. Peace over chaos. If it disturbs my spirit, it doesn’t stay.

  2. Respect over attention. I don’t need eyes on me — I need energy that honors me.

  3. Health over hustle. I’ve burned myself out before. Never again. My body is my home.

  4. Love over fear. I will not choose relationships, jobs, or situations out of desperation.

  5. Purpose over performance. I’m not here to impress. I’m here to impact.

When you live by your non-negotiables, you stop asking “Am I enough?” and start declaring, “This is who I am, take it or leave it.”

Living a Full Life Without Waiting to Be Completed

Let me say this loud: I don’t need someone to complete me.

I travel the world. I pour into my business. I laugh with girlfriends. I enjoy long dinners, rooftop nights, concerts, and quiet mornings. I’ve created a life that is full, vibrant, and mine.

And when you build a life you love, something powerful happens:

  • You don’t cling to what’s not serving you.

  • You don’t beg anyone to stay.

  • You don’t settle for half-love.

You know your true north. You know your value. You know you are whole on your own.

And from that wholeness? You can welcome love. You can receive partnership. You can accept connection. But you no longer confuse it with survival. You no longer think it defines your worth.

God’s Plan > Your Plan

Looking back, every person I lost, every relationship that ended, every door that slammed in my face, it all made room for something better.

That doesn’t mean it didn’t break me at the time. But now, I thank God for unanswered prayers. For protection I didn’t recognize. For closed doors that cleared the path to bigger blessings.

Here’s the truth:

  • What’s meant for you will never pass you by.

  • God doesn’t subtract without multiplying later.

  • Sometimes, letting go is the only way to make room for what’s next.

So yes, it may hurt to release. You may cry. You may question. But by golly wow, watch what happens when you trust Him anyway.

Your Call to Rise

Sis, stop questioning if you’re enough. Stop begging for love that doesn’t honor you. Stop letting people who don’t see your light tell you how brightly you should shine.

You are worthy. You are valuable. You are loved. Period.

If someone walks away, let them. If a season ends, release it.If a door closes, praise anyway.

Because something better is coming, trust me, just wait and see.

✨ This is Luxe living. Not waiting to be chosen, but choosing yourself.

Not begging for love, but embodying it.

Not fearing the loss, but embracing God’s plan.

And when you do? You’ll discover what I have: freedom, joy, peace, and a glow that no storm can dim.
